This listing is for the exact Sword in the photos. From a local Tupelo area collection comes this striking court or presentation sword. Manufacturer was Ede and Sons, Chancery Lane, London, and so marked. We estimate this sword was manufactured and issued or presented in the late 19th Century. Construction is chrome steel, with ornate silver plated handle and guard material, with blued steel inlays, very attractively assembled. Guard is faceted steel, copper wire, and faceted chain strands. Note the suede and cloth strap material. Scabbard is leather body with nickel plated upper and point piece. Finish is polished surface steel, with matte engraving on the sword body. Blade length is 32 inches; overall length is 38 inches. Surface detractions are minimal, principally aging to the strap or belt, and light toning to the metal. We rate this sword as Excellent Condition, 90 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves.
